JOB DESCRIPTION

Respond to mechanic requests according to ongoing work. Meet targets using appropriate purchasing, inventory management, staff involvement, pricing, merchandising, display, and advertising.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and use a sales loss tracking report
• Contribute to monthly reports on sales, expenses, and inventory to ensure profitability goals
• Maintain balanced inventory tailored to service, wholesale, and retail needs. Adjust to avoid obsolescence
• Ensure parts inventory rotates at the rate set by the immediate supervisor
• Handle customer complaints immediately, following the General Manager's guidelines
• Ensure effective communication within the department

WORK CONDITIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in parts, mechanics, or a related field
• Knowledge of SERTI (asset)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license (will be verified before hiring)

JOB NATURE

Welcome customers and gather necessary information to identify and define the repair and maintenance needs of their vehicles. Sell maintenance services and organize the service schedule while ensuring high-quality customer service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the direction of the service manager, you will:
• Warmly welcome customers upon arrival and collect information about their vehicle;
• Explain the nature of the work performed and all costs to customers;
• Advise customers on proper vehicle care and the importance of following manufacturer recommendations;
• Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction;
• Ensure customers are informed about promotions or services offered by the dealership;
• Handle incoming calls related to appointments and ongoing work;
• Schedule maintenance service appointments, gather information in advance when possible;
• Sell lubrication services, safety inspections, and other manufacturer-recommended services;
• Accurately document vehicle issues on the repair order;
• Assign tasks to technicians;
• Test drive vehicles when necessary to identify issues or refer to a technician;
• Review previous service records and recommend additional needed repairs;
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor and parts;
• Set execution timelines, verify with the workshop manager if needed;
• Get customer signature on the repair order and provide them with a copy;
• Determine the payment method and get credit approval if necessary;
• Notify the workshop manager of the work to be performed;
• Check work progress during the day and communicate any changes in estimate or delay to customers, get authorization before additional work;
• Verify warranty coverage before starting repairs;
• Ensure repair orders are complete and properly authorized before closing;
• Ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas, locked, and keys are labeled and stored properly;
• Keep service forms, repair lists, and pricing up to date;
• Be active in quality control processes to prevent returns to the workshop;
• Maintain a clean work area;
• Present yourself professionally;
• Perform other tasks as needed or instructed by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Significant customer service experience;
• Automotive industry experience (an asset);
• Valid Class 5 driver's license (will be verified before hiring);
• Customer-oriented, detail-oriented, team spirit, customer satisfaction focused;
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
